Millingi is an aboriginal girl living in early 19th century Australia. Ten years old at the start of this colourful story, she is something of a rebel and a dreamer, and often finds herself in half-fearful conflict with the ancient beliefs and traditions of her nomadic tribe. Millingi's first sight of the white man's great sailing ship signals the beginning of a new era. The ancient way of life goes on, but its pattern is disturbed and threaten by change. A19.   Courtenay, Bryce "April Fool's Day" Mandarin, 1994. Softcover in very good condition, 8 pages of black and white photographs,  666 pages. This incredibly readable book is about Bryce Courtenay's third son, who was a haemophiliac.  Damon ultimately contracted AIDS after being given a blood transfusion that had the virus. This is controversial, painful and heartbreaking, yet has a gentle humour. Courtenay has managed to put his feelings onto paper with little reserve. A very difficult book to put down.
